How could amplify the sound of a string (not connected to an instrument) to measure the frequency?
I have to investigate the relationship between tension, the linear mass and length of a chain and often when pulled. My goal in doing this by applying a force to vary the voltage, and keeping the length and linear mass constant, then measuring the frequency of use of ... and I'm not sure what to use, but I have to measure the frequency with which to investigate. Any help? The problem is that I do not think that a vibrating string will be strong enough to register on an oscilloscope, etc., and you do not have a box of resonance (like a guitar) to amplify it.
Do you have the answer for yourself:) Put a sounding board. You can use a vessel to remain in the chain amplify the sound. Or you can use an amplifier. But I personally like the sounding approach, try different depths and diameters, and see:)
